Root Beer Flavoring Help for Menopause Relief Too? Hot Flashes Help…
Sarsaparilla Root Has That Distinction
“The name ‘Sarsaparilla’ is derived from the Spanish words
‘sarza’ for shrub
or bramble , and ‘p arilla’ for little vine. It has been used commercially as a foaming agent in root beer and for flavoring in food products such as frozen dairy desserts, candy and baked goods. Who would have guessed that it is also one of the many herbal remedies used for hot flashes help.
It was not uncommon for cowboys in old Western movies who didn’t want whiskey to order Sarsaparilla, which was a popular beverage in the times before modern soft drinks.” Now many years later I am writing about it for the many women who are seeking hot flashes help.
Speaking of root beer, I can remember when my, exceedingly enterprising, Dad would make homemade root beer downstairs in the basement of our home…yep that’s right!
Boy did it taste good…I can almost taste it now…that very unique smell and taste of homemade root beer…there’s nothing like it!
He would use large barrel like containers to make the root beer. Now I don’t remember the rest of the ingredients but I clearly remember he used Sarsaparilla.
Sarsaparilla is what gives root beer that clearly distinctive taste…I must say, I’m not much on soda, but I still love root beer to this day.
By the way, you can purchase a “natural” root beer from your local health food store that is absolutely downright tasty….. and with all the healthy ingredients.
So much for root beer…here’s s the part about Menopause…Sarsaparilla Root (Smilax officinalis) increases energy, regulates hormones and has diuretic properties.
It may be useful in cases of frigidity, impotence, infertility, nervous system disorders, PMS and disorders caused by blood impurities, as well as hot flashes help.

Grows Wild and Free…Tonic for Your Liver
Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale)
This is a wonderful herb for liver. It gives relief to the liver when it goes under extra stress due to imbalanced hormones not to mention that it is a great herb for hot flashes.
A woman’s hormone production level can become unbalanced and when that occurs the liver undergoes a great amount of stress. Dandelion root has been used as a general liver tonic, making it a useful menopause herb in a roundabout way.
It is also recommended for frazzled or stressed, internally slow, and sedentary people. In addition, a cup of dandelion tea can act therapeutically for anyone who consumes too much fat, processed foods, and sugar.
Dandelion root is deemed to be one of the safest and most popular herbal remedies. It supposed to strengthen the entire body, especially the liver and gallbladder. Efficient liver function is critical for overall good health.
Dandelion has been known to be a excellent strengthener for the liver, the dominate center for hot flashes. All parts of the dandelion are edible and have medicinal and culinary uses.
Suggested use for Dandelion roots, eat raw, steamed, in a salad, sauteed or braised in olive oil with a dash of spike seasoning or even dried, roasted and ground into a coffee substitute. The flowers can be used to make dandelion wine, but they also can be added to a salad. If you used in a salad, the greens should be picked while still small and tender, before the first flower emerges because the larger greens tend to be tougher and bitter and better for cooking.
Dandelion leaves are very nutritious. It can be used as an herb for hot flashes as well.
They’re higher in beta-carotene than carrots. The leaves are rich in potassium, antioxidants, and vitamins A and C and the iron and calcium content is super even more than spinach. EXPERIENCING PERIMENOPAUSE? WHAT ARE HOT FLASHES & MORE…
Perimenopause is defined as the transitional period that comes directly before menopause. So the word is pre-menopause. During this period a woman experiences hormonal imbalances and various fluctuations in her body. It is not uncommon for signs and symptoms of perimenopause to begin 10 or even 15 years before menstruation stops totally. If you are experiencing perimenopause you maybe asking the question what are hot flashes.
Some of the symptoms of perimenopause include irregular periods, hot flashes, lethargy and hazy thinking. Three hormones maybe out of balance are estrogen, progesterone and testosterone.
I have learned from my readings that women as young as late 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s may phase in and out of a perimenopause condition before they totally phase into menopause. Personal disclosure here… I can remember about 15 years ago, or so, I begin to experience a light depression, fogging thinking and lethargy throughout my day. I could not for the life of me determine the cause because everything had been going quite well in my life.
Because the condition persisted I decided to do a bit of investigation. So off I went for a visit to my local health food store. I described my condition to my nutritionist. Within a few minutes of our conversation she solved this nagging puzzle for me. You got it! I had begun to experience what I have been describing…perimenopause.
Hormonal Imbalance In Perimenopause
During perimenopause the hormones estrogen and progesterone in your body are unstable. I have also learned that in some cultures women do not experience menopause as we do in this culture…that is a future topic. Poor diet, high in refined carbohydrates and not much on vital proteins, deficiency in proper nutrients and more non-supportive causes can be attributed to the extreme “hormonal roller-coaster.”
Other areas that can attribute to the dysfunction of the hormones beside your physical are your emotional and spiritual self being out of balance or not centered. Admittedly, in this society which has promoted and produced a continuous on-the- go culture, a lack of harmony or well-being in one’s life is not uncommon.
My suggestion is to do your homework to find alternatives to pharmaceuticals. As I “discover” alternatives to prescription drugs, I will add both informative information and hopefully the products to my website.
Pharmaceuticals as we know come with a lot of side effects and frankly does zero in getting to the “root” of your discomfort.
In that regard, Natural Menopause Hot Flash Relief Insights, are abound these days, hallelujah, and they maybe able to provide you with the relief you need and deserve.
Thanks so much for reading! Hopefully, I have provided you with insight into what are hot flashes and more…
I would love to get your comments, suggestions and opinions on this topic.
